Re-taking a Smart Match Session
You can run Smart Match as many times as you like. Each session is independent. Here is how to start fresh, where past sessions live, and when a retake makes sense.
How to Start a New Session
After you get results (the Dossier phase), click New Session. You return to the Briefing phase. Your previous conversation and stack are cleared. Type a new prompt or use a Quick Start card.
You can also navigate away and come back to Smart Match. The next time you land on the page, you start fresh (or see the last state, depending on implementation). Use New Session to explicitly reset.
Where Past Sessions Live
Sessions are stored in our system for improvement and future features. A session history UI is planned — for now, use the Copy button to save your Strategy Brief and stack to clipboard before starting a new session. We will announce session history when it is available.
When to Retake
Different context — Your budget, role, or use case changed. Run again with updated context.
Different results — You want to compare. Run with similar input and see if recommendations vary. Small changes in wording can shift the stack.
Refinement — Your first run was vague. Retake with more detail (budget, scale, preferences) for a tighter stack.
New tools — Our directory updates. A retake may surface tools that were added since your last session.
Why Results May Differ
- More context — More specific input usually yields a more focused stack.
- Directory updates — New tools, price changes, and updated data affect recommendations.
- Non-determinism — The recommendation engine may return slightly different order or alternatives across runs. Top tools tend to be consistent when context is similar.
